Doyle Jay Doty

Doyle Jay Doty, 88, of Grayling, passed away on December 30, 2018. He was born in Traverse City on December 21 1930 to the late Beaulah (Reynolds) and Jay Doty. Doyle served in the US Army during the Vietnam era, retiring after 20 years of service to our country. He married the former Jessie Hill in 1960 in Mt. Clemens. Jessie preceded him in death in 2016. Survived by his sons: Frank (Joanne) Doty of Grayling; Mark (Dee) Doty of Colorado; Robert (Kay) Doty of Traverse City; and David Doty of Wayland. Daughter in law, Teri Doty of Alabama. Stepmother: Ann Doty of Grayling. Grandchildren: Jennifer Szmansky and Blair Doty; Lance Doty and Shalom Severance; Gabe, TJ, and Adrianne Doty; Derek,and Brad Doty; and Kaitlynn Doty. Great grandchildren: Cyrus Severance, Elle and Evan Szmansky; Dominick and Eliana Doty; and Tristan Doty. Preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, first wife Ursula (mother of Frank, Mark, and Neil), wife Jessie (mother of Robert and David), step brother, Ken and son Neil Doty.
