Sylvia Mae Keelean, 80, of Grayling, passed away on February 7, 2018. She was born a "Coal Miners Daughter", to the late Leonard and Ethyl (Cook) Phillips on February 26, 1937 in War, West Virginia. Sylvia was one of 8 children. She married Charles "Dick" Keelean on August 8, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan. They were married for 62 years before he preceded her in death in 2017. Sylvia was an avid reader, an excellent seamstress, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an outstanding marksman. She was a member of the Grayling Moose Lodge. Survived by her daughters, Debby Esco and Beverly Harris. Grandchildren: Paige, Hallie, Roger, Catie,and Holly and 4 great grandchildren. Sister: Gail Dillon of North Carolina. Brothers: Paul Phillips of Virginia, and Jackie Phillips of Florida. Sylvia's family are appreciative of the help "A Great Guy", Carl Pillavant, has given over many years. Preceded in death by her parents; husband Dick; sons, Chuck and Kenny Keelean; and brothers, Leonard, Charlie, Bill, and Johnny Phillips. Her family will remember her privately.
